Changing Food and Physical Activity Environments
Improving the food and physical activity environments in communities requires building partnerships, and requires working in a variety of arenas or sectors to reach the many places and aspects of people's lives that shape our health. The food and physical activity environments of schools, neighborhoods, businesses, government institutions or agencies, parks and city streets form the environments in which we live, day to day. Creating permanent change in these different arenas requires changing policies and institutional practices, and assuring that those changes are implemented over the long haul.
